Hole Hiking Snowshoe Tours

The Hole Hiking Experience caters to all ages and abilities. Half- and full-day excursions available. A naturalist guide will lead you on a journey into the heart of winter on snowshoes or cross-country skis. You will follow animal tracks in the snow, examine different aspects of winter ecology and enjoy the outstanding beauty of Jackson Hole as it is blanketed in white. Tours are offered in Grand Teton National Park or in the surrounding National Forest.

TRANSPORTATION COSTS TO MOOSE ARE NOT INCLUDED IN MIXED GROUP TOUR PRICING. TYPICAL TAXI FARE FROM TETON VILLAGE TO MOOSE IS $70 (For 1-2 passengers, $5 per extra person) AND FROM JACKSON TO MOOSE IS $35 (For 1-2 passengers, $5 per extra person). Rates exclude park entrance fees.

The Explorer

• Trip length: 4 hours
• Rating: all abilities
• Half-day tours depart at 8 am, or 1 pm. Get a taste of winter backcountry travel. Bottled water, snacks, transportation, and the use of fanny packs and binoculars are included. Our tours include snowshoe rental. Skis and boots can be rented locally.
• Private Tours are offered 7-days per week. Mixed Group Tours are offered Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Mixed Group tours must provide own transportation to tour meeting place in Moose, WY

The Trekker

• Trip length: 6 hours
• Rating: moderate to strenuous
• Our full-day tours depart at 9 am. You'll have more time with this tour to get a little deeper into the backcountry. Bottled water, lunch and snacks, transportation, and the use of fanny packs and binoculars are included. Our tours include snowshoe rental. Skis and boots can be rented locally.
• Private Tours are offered 7-days per week.

Snowshoe Sampler

• Trip length: 2 hours: 10 am - noon
• Rating: all abilities
• Join us to sample snowshoeing and learn about winter ecology. Tour departs Teton Village at 10 am and will explore Grand Teton Park. Snowshoes, gaiters, poles, transportation from Teton Village, bottled water, and the use of fanny packs are included.

Winter Wildlife and Snowshoe

• Trip length: 4 hours 8am - noon
• Rating: all abilities
• This unique expedition begins at 8 AM and combines wildlife viewing with a snowshoe tour through Grand Teton Park. Spot wildlife in their natural setting as your local naturalist shares the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Visit habitats of bighorn sheep, elk, moose, deer, eagles, Trumpeter Swans, and much more. After time spent exploring mixed habitats with optics, you will journey into the forest to look for animal tracks and sign and connect to the landscape on snowshoes. Snowshoe outing is about an hour of experience.

Snowshoe & Sleigh ***Due to Covid Restrictions this tour is currently unavailabile

• Trip length: 8 hours
• Rating: all abilities
• Combine a snowshoe tour in Grand Teton Park with lunch at historic Dornan’s in Moose. End the day with a horse- drawn sleigh ride on the National Elk Refuge as you travel through the majestic elk herd. Your naturalist guide will share winter ecology, adaptations, geology, wildlife behavior, and natural history of this amazing area. Transportation, lunch, snowshoe rental, sleigh ride and optics provided.
