Imagine riding through the snow covered mountain side on a horse drawn sleigh taking in the sights and smells of the picturesque landscape while the winter air tickles your nose. To the left you see a herd of elk and on your right a wooded forest sprawling the range. Sounds dreamy right? You can make this your reality with a trip to Mill Iron Ranch.
The Ranch
Locally owned and operated since 1921, the Mill Iron Ranch offers a one-of-a-kind Jackson Hole experience. Family run by the Wheeldon’s for 4 generations when you walk onto the property you are welcomed and treated like a life-long family friend. The Ranch is bordered by the beautiful Bridger Teton National Forest, and the second Largest State Ran Elk Feed Yard in Wyoming. The Trail Rides
Explore the trails around the property on tours with friendly and knowledgeable guides. While your roaming, listen to the tall tales from your guide and soak in the mesmerizing view of the local wildlife where you'll see elk, horses, deer and maybe even a bear.
Winter Sleigh Rides
Enjoy a magical evening sleigh ride with family or friends around the beautiful wintery scenery. Rides available in December (weather permitting.)
Summer Trail Rides
Ride through the Bridger Teton National Forest by horseback with a friendly and knowledgeable guide. Climb over 2,000 vertical feet to take in the breathtaking views of Hoback, Snake River Canyon and the Teton Range. Choose between 2 hour, 4 hour, and full day rides. Fun fact: The 2 hour ride is rated the # 1 two hour trail ride in the United States. Trail rides are available May through September.
The Dinner
Some might argue that the best part of the trail ride is the dinner and company that follows. Enjoy a true Western experience at the ranch's Lodge with a rather large t-bone steak, cooked to perfection. Enjoy the outstanding food and lively country band- a wonderful end to a memorable experience.
